Our beach is fairly flat and excellent for sunbathing, hanging out, playing beach games and riding bikes.  The width of the beach varies quite a bit with the tide, from fairly narrow at high tide to very wide at low tide.  The tide tables below can be helpful in planning beach activities around high and low tides during your stay.   Use the scroll arrows below the graphic to find your dates of your stay.  A few tips on tides:
  • Avoid bike riding on the beach 2 hours before and after high tide as the beach will be too small and the hard pack sand which is easy to ride on will be underwater.   Ride 10 to 30 feet from the waterline where the slightly wet sand will feel about the same as riding on a paved asphalt road or bike path.
  • Two or three times per year there are "King Tide" events when our beach may become too small to use for roughly an hour before and after high tide.  King tides tend to occur in the evening or overnight and can be identified when tide height is over 8 feet.
  • There is a "Tide Clock" in the outdoor entertainment center on the pool patio that provides tide info at a quick glance.  You can also ask Alexa "when is high tide" or "when is low tide" from any of the 3 voice controlled Alexa devices in our home.
