Check-In

Check-in time is 4:00pm and check-out time is 10am.   Our home has a key-less entry system so you can proceed directly to our home to begin your vacation.  Your door code will be emailed 5-10 days before your arrival.  Early check-in is possible only if the prior guest is not checking out the day of your arrival.   If another guest is checking out the day of your arrival it is not possible to offer early check-in.  

Vehicle Passes

Vehicles entering Sea Pines are required to buy and display a vehicle gate pass. Passes can be purchased at either Sea Pines gate for $8 per day or $22 per week.  Make sure to tell the guard you are a guest staying at 7 Black Duck to get the above rates (non-guest weekly rate is $32).

NOTE: Motorcycles, RV's and trailers are not allowed to enter Sea Pines.  Additionally passenger vans or pickup trucks with logos or writing on their sides will need to be parked inside the garages or covered up while being parked in the driveway since all forms of vehicle advertising is prohibited to be parked inside Sea Pines overnight.

Parking

Our driveway has the capacity to park up to 8 cars, plus the garage can handle an additional vehicle.  If your group has a large SUV's or trucks you may not be able to park 9 vehicles on our property.  Sea Pines provides overflow parking so call or email for details if you need additional parking.  PLEASE DO NOT PARK VEHICLES ON OUR LAWN.  The Sea Pines security team will ticket cars $100 per day if they are parked on unpaved surfaces during their twice daily security patrols.  

Linens Provided

All linens (bedding, towels, washcloths) are provided for each guest, as well as starter sets of soaps, dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels and kitchen washcloths.  WE DO NOT PROVIDE BEACH TOWELS SO PLEASE DO NOT USE BATH TOWELS ON THE BEACH AS THEY WILL BE UNUSABLE FOR FUTURE GUESTS.

 

 

Beach Gear

There are 8 beach chairs available for guest use stored in the pool patio area.  Please rinse or wipe any sand or dirt from whatever you use and store beach chairs to be considerate of future guests.   There is often a collection of children's beach and pool toys that are left behind by prior guests.  Feel free to use them if you wish and also feel free to throw broken or rusted toys in the trash if you feel their useful life has passed. 

Beach Access

Hilton Head does not require beach tags and there are no life guards on the beach near our home so please monitor members of your group when they swim in the ocean.  To access the beach exit the rear pool area and walk straight.  Along the way you will notice a large deck with seating for your enjoyment (this is a great place to watch sunsets).  To locate our home from the beach note that our home is two homes to the left of the water tower.  There is also the number 7 mounted on a post protecting the dunes at our path entrance that makes it easy to identify the beach path to our home.

Lights Out For Turtles

May 1st thru October 31st is nesting & hatchling season for Loggerhead Sea Turtles.  Since our home is oceanfront we are required to turn off all exterior lights visible from the beach at 10 pm May thru October.  Our landscape lighting will automatically go off at 10 pm but we rely on our guests to not use the deck lights, patio lights nor flashlights after 10 pm.  The pool and spa lights are OK to use after 10pm since neither is visible from the beach.  If you spot a Sea Turtle, nest or hatchling please leave them alone as they are an endangered species.  To learn more about these beautiful creatures visit http://www.hiltonheadislandsc.gov/ourisland/NatResources/seaturtles.cfm

Trash Collection

Trash and recycling pickup is Wednesday & Saturday.  The outdoor trash receptacles are located on a deck on the left side of the house which is accessible via the door just past the laundry room on the lower level.  It is not necessary to move the cans to the curb as the trash company will collect them directly from the trash deck and put them back once emptied.  Please use trash bags and do not place trash directly in the cans as that has been known in the past to attract local critters and bugs.

Check-Out Instructions

Check out time is 10:00am.  Unfortunately we cannot accommodate late checkouts if there is a guest checking in later on the day of your departure.  Before leaving please ensure the following :

* Leave used beds unmade

* Clean dirty dishes, silverware and cooking utensils and put them away

* Put any last minute dishes in the dishwasher

* Please sign our guestbook before you leave

* Replace any furniture that was rearranged

* Clean out the refrigerator fully and take out the trash

* Check for personal items that may have been accidentally left behind
